"Peter advised us how to get the marriage license and the perfect spot in Central Park to get married and I'm pretty sure he made the sun shine that day..." -Louise (wedding: 10/7/14)
New York City abounds with parks that make wonderful wedding venues, and world-renowned Central Park is one of the most beautiful and most romantic settings for your ceremony. After performing hundreds of weddings there, I am pleased to offer engaged couples complete Central Park Wedding packages. All packages now include a Central Park Wedding permit. While the permit is only strictly required for groups of 20 or more, it gives you exclusive use of the site for your designated time. No other permitted events can take place in your location at the same time. In some locations, permit holders can request people who are not in your bridal party to make way. Take the Central Park Wedding Tour, a video tour of the most popular wedding locations in Central Park, and choose an idyllic setting for your wedding ceremony. Of course being a public park, even with a permit, there are bound to be passers-by. Often, there are enthusiastic onlookers who will cheer along with your guests at the end of the ceremony.
All of our Central Park Wedding Packages can be converted to NYC Elopement Packages simply by changing the venue to another iconic NYC public space, as permitted by law. (Additional permit fees or entry fees may apply.) Currently popular locations for elopements include Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Rockefeller Center and The Highline. Or choose a place that has special meaning to you.

This package is named in honor of Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, the architects of Central Park. While visiting New York City, you can see another beautiful park designed by Olmstead & Vaux, Brooklyn's Prospect Park.
Central Park can be one of the most affordable venues in New York City, and it has never been easier to plan a wedding there, whether you are a native New Yorker or having your dream NYC destination wedding. Some of the nicest areas at which I have officiated are at the Ladies Pavilion, on the Bow Bridge, at Cop Cot, in the Shakespeare Garden, at Wagner Cove and at the Conservatory Garden. (The Parks Department requires an additional $500 in permit and photography fees for Conservatory Garden Weddings.)
It goes without saying that a Central Park Wedding is greatly affected by the weather, so please keep this in mind. It can be quite cold in Central Park from November through March. There is the possibility of snow on the ground during these months. Couples who choose to hold their weddings outdoors during these months should be prepared to dress appropriately.
Many couples have an alternate location (the reception venue, for example) arranged, in case of inclement weather. While the possibility of rain on your wedding day sounds horrible, I have performed weddings in the park on rainy days every now and then. In actuality, these ceremonies are just as lovely as if the sun were shining, maybe even more romantic. As long as there isn’t a dangerous wind or lightning, we all just put up our umbrellas. Whether you are willing to gamble on the weather is up to you, but when everything works out, a Central Park Wedding is something you and your partner will always cherish.
